PLHS Alumni eUpdate

August 2013
When
life gets busy and the eUpdates take longer to get out there is a LOT of info
to include. Hopefully there is something of interest to all alums in this
link-filled issue. (I know I keep promising to send these more often, but the
time flies by.)
Enjoy
the last few weeks of summer. If you have pics from your reunion or other
gatherings of your classmates, please get them to me with a breif explanation
and we will put them into the next eUpdate!

On April

pictures industries (a high demand labor market in California.)
The
Facility includes video editing rooms, audio suite, audio-video hub, podium

Josh Morse (PL 10)
has a life journey that has taken him from homeless
student
to San Diego State University Student Body President. His story is touching and
remarkable. Having had the opportunity to work with Josh on an Alumni video of
PLHS a few years ago I can attest to the fact that he is a wonderful and highly
motivated young man. Congratulations Josh for the honor of heading up the SDSU
ASB!! Joshs Story

PL 59 (the sculptor of the Spirit of the Pointer statue donated by Alumni) has
another work of public art
. This time honoring the SD Lifeguard service and
commemorating Robert Baxley and the 13 victims of the 1918 drowning at Ocean
Beach.
The tragedy was the impetus for the
City of San Diego to add additional lifeguard services. When you are in OB
check out the life-sized statue next to the main Lifeguard tower. Lifeguard memorial
