Scholarships: The PLHS Alumni
have maintained a
tradition of
awarding
scholarships to
graduating seniors
to help them further
their education
since the mid
1970’s. These
scholarships remind
students that the
Pointer legacy is
one that will be
with them for the
rest of their
lives. Each
year the amount
awarded for each
scholarships is
determined based on
Alumni donations to
that fund.
Students submit an
essay stating what
being a Pointer Alum
will mean to
them. Alumni
Committee members
read the essays and
participate in
selecting the
recipient.

Sunset Cliffs Surf
Association to
provide financial
assistance for
students who are
taking their first
scholastic steps to
being a 1st
responder,
lifeguard,
firefighter, police,
nursing, ect. or who
are entering a trade
school. It is
intended to help
students who might

four year university
students but plan to
continue education
leading to a trade
or public servant as
a 1st responder.
